News Oresund nyhetsgrafik. © News Øresund Johan Wessman (CC BY 3.0). Sedan 1990 har antalet invånare i Köpenhamns kommun ökat med 147 000 medan antalet bebodda bostäder endast ökat med 30 000. Prisstigningarna på Köpenhamns bostadsmarknad beror snarare på förhållandet mellan utbud och efterfrågan än på oansvariga banker som lånar ut för mycket. Det skriver Curt Liliegreen, direktör vid Boligøkonomisk Videncenter i Köpenhamn i ett inlägg på Linkedin. Sedan har låg ränta, spekulation och utlåningsvilliga banker inte gjort situationen bättre påpekar han. Curt Liliegreen lyfter även fram en rad andra faktorer som utöver bostadsbristen bidragit till stigande bostadspriser. Invånarna i Köpenhamn har inte bara blivit fler utan yngre, bättre utbildade och mera högavlönade. Samtidigt påpekar han att Köpenhamn har goda möjligheter att öka bostadsbyggandet med unika utbyggnadsmöjligheter. Köpenhamns överborgmästare har nyligen också föreslagit att reglerna ska ändras så att det kan byggas fler små lägenheter i Köpenhamn för att på så sätt bidra till kommunens mål om att skapa 60 000 nya bostäder på tolv år.
