English: On Tuesday, May 9, the 2017 Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Pacific Industry Forum took place at the Ala Moana Hotel in Waikiki. This event brought SAME sustaining and individual members, non-members, and senior leaders from the Federal, State and County Governments together for program briefings, a luncheon, and small business networking opportunities.
NAVFAC Pacific involvement's included participation by Lisa Roth, NAVFAC Pacific Small Business director, on the Small Business workshop panel, along with a presentation provided by Capt. Mike Monreal, NAVFAC Pacific Operations officer, on NAVFAC Pacific's organization and the workforce crisis in Guam. Other program briefings were provided by the following government agencies: -Federal – USACE (Army), USAF (Air Force), NAVFAC (Navy), PACOM -State of Hawaii and City & County of Honolulu – Hawaii State Department of Transportation (Airports and Harbors Divisions), City & County of -Honolulu Department of Transportation Services (Smart Streets Program) -Small Business Workshop/Panel – SBA and Agency Small Business Representatives (Army and Navy) on SBA and DoD Mentor-Protege Programs -Technical Session – Use of Drones in the Construction Industry (U.S. Navy photo by Chief William Chadwell) |
