Summary
[edit]Description2017 Metropolitan Storage Warehouse (Building W41).jpg |
English: The Metropolitan Storage Warehouse Building, located at 134 Massachusetts Avenue between Vassar and Pacific Streets in Cambridge, Massachusetts, was built in 1894-95. although some parts of the structure date from 1911. Metropolitan Moving & Storage closed c.2015 because the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which had owned the building since 1972, decided to use it as part of its campus. In 2018 a plan was announced to convert the building into a central location for MIT's School of Architecture and Planning. The alteration of the landmark building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, would require the approval of the City of Cambridge. {Sources Cambridge Day article and MIT article) |
