Summary

[edit]
Description

Hooker's evening primrose (Oenothera elata var. hirsutissima), Evening Primrose family (Onagraceae). Planted in my front yard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah.

It grows huge by the fall and does not look much attractive on the alpine mound. I'll try to keep it at low places, nevertheless, because golden finches love it. They come almost every day to collect seeds.
