| Description |
English: Looking north along the currently abandoned eastern platforms at Stapleton Road in Bristol. These two tracks were opened in 1891 to give extra capacity on what was then the main line from London to south Wales. They were closed in 1984 to avoid the expense of replaced the viaduct (which is just visible beyond the fence in the distance) but twenty years on and it has been recognised that the tracks will need to be reinstated to cope with increased demands for the route between Bristol Temple Meads and Filton. |
