Description2014-06-17 Tapinella panuoides (Batsch) E.-J. Gilbert 431812.jpg |
Tapinella panuoides (Batsch) E.-J. Gilbert Image location: Lake Livingston State Park, Polk Co., Texas, USA Growing on old log. Caps up to 4.8 cm across. Flesh is pale yellow. Spore print(thin) was a pale yellow. Spores initially appeared to be amyloid but under the microscope they were dark red, indicating they are actually dextrinoid. Spores ~ 4.1-5.6 X 3.0-4.0 microns, broadly ellipsoid to ellipsoid, and smooth. Q(range) = 1.24-1.48. Q(ave) = 1.34. Did not taste them. Assumed they were a Crepidotus(?) or maybe a Panellus? Recognized by sight Spores in Melzers @ 1000X.
