Description

Accession: 2012-29-1 Flintlock Pistol, 60 Gauge, US Navy Model 1814, Contract, John Shuler.

Contract flintlock pistol with a W Ketland & Co lockplate and British proofs. John Shuler was issued a contract in 1815 to supply pistols to the US Navy. He used parts from his 1808 Army contract and parts supplied by the Schuylkill Arsenal to fulfil the contract.
