| Description |
Deutsch: 08.03.2011 04779 Wermsdorf, Altes Jagdschloß 1: Altes Jagdschloß / Königliches Jagdschloß (GMP: 51.282710,12.939678). Renaissancebau, errichtet unter Kurfürst Christian II. von 1608 bis 1610 auf dem Gelände des alten Rittergutes. Zwischen 1617 und 1627 erfolgte ein großzügiger Ausbau des Schlosses unter der Leitung von Simon Hoffmann und Johann Friedrich Steyer. An den Nordflügel wurden Ost- und Westflügel angefügt. Der Westflügel wurde 1902 aufgestockt und den beiden anderen Schloßflügeln angeglichen. Die Jagdresidenz, die durch den Bau des Schlosses Hubertusburg an Bedeutung verlor, wurde schon frühzeitig als Verwaltungssitz genutzt. Heute befinden sich hier die emeindeverwaltung und einen Reitstall. Rechts in Bild steht die evangelische Pfarrkirche des Ortes. Das barocke Gotteshaus hat einen romanischen Kern und besitzt innen eine historisierende Ausstattung des späten 19. Jahrhunderts. Von der romanischen Saalkirche des frühen 13. Jahrhunderts sind der Chor und die halbrunde Apsis erhalten geblieben. Auf den Chor setzte man 1696 einen barocken Kirchturm. 1704 wurde der Westgiebel des romanischen Langhauses abgetragen und das Kirchenschiff um ein Drittel verlängert. Wenn sich Kurfürst Friedrich August II. von Sachsen (1696-1763) mit seinem Hof in Wermsdorf aufhielt, war die Dorfkirche zugleich die evangelische Hofkirche.
