Description

Accession: 2011-115-1 Award, Medal, War Merit Cross, Second Class, Germany. 2.23"H X 1.83"W

The medal was awarded to non-combatants for assistance to the war effort during World War II. The medal was made from bronze or zinc with a wash of bronze. The medal has an associated ribbon of red, white, and black stripes, the reverse has the date, "1939" and the obverse the swastika. Medal is from the Collection of FADM E.J. King.
