Description
Deutsch: 14.04.2010 04703 Leisnig, Kirchplatz: Stadtkirche St. Matthäi (GMP: 51.161661,12.926516). Von der Vorgängerkirche blieb nichts erhalten. Die heutige spätgotische Hallenkirche mit Kreuznetzgewölbe wurde von 1460 bis 1484 unter Mitwirkung des Meisters Ulrich Halbbutter erbaut. Nach Brand wieder hergestellt 1638, umgebaut 1882. Besonders bemerkenswert ist der knapp 11 m hohe Altar aus dem Jahr 1664 vom Bildhauer Valentin Otte und dem Maler Johann Richter aus Meißen. Im Mittelfeld Ecce homo. Die barocke Kanzel wurde um 1700 für die 1906 abgebrochene Stadtkirche Hainichen geschaffen und kam erst 1962 nach Leisnig. 1882/83 erhielt die Kirche nach Plänen des Architekten Gotthilf Ludwig Möckel (1838-1915) eine neogotische Ausstattung. Davon ist heute nichts mehr zu sehen, denn bei Renovierungen, die 1960 begannen, wurden alle neogotischen EIemente beseitigt. [DSCN41057.TIF]20100414045DR.JPG(c)Blobelt
