Description
English: A Medieval silver shield-shaped seal matrix, dating to the 13th or early 14th century. The suspension loop or handle is missing, although the trefoil-shaped terminal remains. The seal is engraved with the design of a sun, or star, above a crescent moon. The inscription, within a beaded border, reads: + S I G I L [L?] * W I L L E L M I . A G U [L?] ('The seal of William of Gul (?)).
