| Description |
Deutsch: 01.09.2009 04779 Wermsdorf, An der Hubertusburg 1: Schloß Hubertusburg (GMP: 51.277443,12.939811). Kurfürst August von Sachsen gab 1721 den Befehl, das Jagdschloß Hubertusburg zu errichten. 1733 war die von J. Chr. Naumann entworfene Dreiflügelanlage fertiggestellt. Nach dem Tode seines Vaters ließ Kurfürst Friedrich August II. das Schloß unter Leitung von J. Ch. Knöffel bis 1753 zur barocken Vierflügelanlage ausbauen. Es war das größte Jagdschloß Europas. Die Glanzzeit endete 1756 mit dem Siebenjährigen Krieg. 1761 wurde die Ausstattung auf Befehl Friedrich II. von Preußen geplündert. Im Ergebnis des Hubertusburger Friedens von 1763 verlor Sachsen seine Machtstellung und Hubertusburg seinen Glanz. Es wurde u.a. als Steingutmanufaktur, Militärmagazin, Gefängnis, Arbeitshaus und Krankenhaus genutzt. In der DDR sind aus der Heil- und Pflegeanstalt für Geisteskranke 1973 die "Kliniken Hubertusburg" hervorgegangen, die heute aber das Schloßgebäude selbst nicht mehr belegen.
