English: railcar class 40 of the Belgian railways (SNCB), as preserved by the PFT (Patrimoine Ferroviaire et Touristique) heritage railway.
This small (7 items were built) 3-bodies railcar class has been built between 1957 and 1961, and retired in 1984, after SNCB decided to restructure his passenger service. Two of the haven't been scrapped, but are in very bad condition, after staying outside for many years. PFT has bought this one with the aim of restoring it, but it's maybe too late...
Français : Autorail série 40 des chemin sde fer Belges (SNCB) - exemplaire prototype 4001. Cet autorail appartient à l'association PFT (Patrimoine Ferroviaire et Touristique).
Cette petite série de 7autorails tricaisses a été construite entre 1957 et 1961. Ils furent retirés du service dès 1984, alors que la SNCB réformait en profondeur son offre voyageur (plan "IC-IR"). Deux exemplaires ont survécu. Le PFT a acquis celui-ci en mauvais état suite à un séjour prolongé à l'air libre, dans l'intention de le restaurer, mais il faut craindre qu'il ne soit déjà trop tard... |
