Description Deployment of a floater in the Southern Ocean from RV POLARSTERN (ANT-XXIII/9). Floaters are autonomous operating oceanographic devices, used to measure currents, salinity and temperature; data are transfered via satellite to the operating institute. Deployment of this floater was a German contribution to the Argo Programm.
