| Description |
English: 2007 could be a good year for Sloe Gin. The very wet summer has produced a lot of fat, juicy sloes [Prunus spinosa, or blackthorn].Prick about 0.75 litres of sloes and put in a jar large enough to hold the other ingredients and allow shaking. Add 300g sugar, 1 litre of gin and a few drops of almond essence. Cover tightly and shake at intervals. Ready to drink after 2-3 months - strain and bottle. It keeps well, but frequent testing is necessary. |
