Deutsch: 17.02.2007 01097 Dresden-Innere Neustadt, Carolaplatz 1, Köpckestraße 2: Sächsisches Staatsministerium der Finanzen (GMP: 51.056853,13.744625). Nach einem Entwurf von Otto Wanckel und der Ausführung und dem Innenausbau von Ottomar Reichelt wurde von 1890-1896 das Königlich Sächsische Finanzministerium in der Semperschen Tradition errichtet. Der Funktionsbau zeigt einen Repräsentationsanspruch im Stil der Neorenaissance bei einem Aufriß in barockem Duktus. Zur Elbseite hin schmückt einGiebelmosaik aus bemalten Steingutfliesen von Anton Dietrich die Fassade. Die Saxonia ist umgeben von Allegorien der Gewerke und Künste. Das vorgelagerte elbseitige Königsufer gestaltete Heinrich Balke 1933-1936. Das Gebäude wurde im II. Weltkrieg schwer beschädigt. Das noch nicht erneuerte Haus diente ab 1949 zunächst der Versicherungsanstalt Sachsen und wurde 1951-1990 von der Bezirksbehörde der Deutschen Volkspolizei genutzt. Der Ministerialbau wurde nach Plänen der Architekturbüros Gruner & Trepte und von Einsiedel, Haeffner und Schulze rekonstruiert und saniert. U.a. erhielt das Dach zwei neue Bürogeschosse.
