English: Roman silver finger ring: report by Richard Hobbs (Curator, Romano-British Collections, British Museum) follows: The ring has an ovular, smoothly swelling profile to a flattened bezel. The bezel has an ovular setting for a stone, now missing. The ring is in poor condition, with the bezel badly damaged. Date: 2nd/3rd century AD Ext. d.: 21.8 mm Int. d.: 14.8 mm Wt.: 6.8g. Comment: this item is made substantially of silver so meets the requirements of Treasure as stipulated by the 1996 Treasure Act.
