The AU Falcon was built from Sept 1998- Sept 2002. The completely new 'Edge' look AU Falcon wasn't that attractive, but it was the most aerodynamic Falcon ever built. Base model; Forte, 4.0 6 cyl, auto, air, silver waterfall fan grille. Forte S option pack; as above with alloys and rear spoiler Classic pack; ABS, cruise, alloys, rear spoiler, egg crate grille Futura; ABS, cruise, alloys, body coloured horizontal bar grille Fairmont; upmarket interior, alloys, honeycomb grille. Fairmont Ghia: XR6 engine, CD stacker, chrome grille surround. XR6 and XR8; Tickford improved running gear, sports interior, quad headlight front fascia, body kit, rear spoiler. Also available from Tickford was the high performance XR8 based TE50 and Fairmont Ghia based TS50. The wagon was available in Forte, Futura and Fairmont The Utility available in Styleside or Cab chassis. The base model got the egg crate grille and the XR, the quad headlight front. Fairlane and LTD still available too The 1999 Series II saw a more conventional grille on the Forte and new bumpers, The 2001 Series III got body-coloured mirrors and side strips Engines; 157kw 4.0 6 cyl (164kw Tickford) 200kw 5.0 V8 (250kw TE and TS50) |
