Description1st TSC opens Theater Gateway 131001-Z-QP124-001.jpg |
English: Maj. Gen. Kurt Stein, commander of the 1st Theater Sustainment Command, and Brig. Gen. Donald Tatum, commander of the 135th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, cut the ribbon during a grand opening ceremony at Kuwait’s Theater Gateway today on Camp Arifjan. They were joined by Col. Gregory Robinette, commander of the 371st Sustainment Brigade and Lt. Col. Christopher Pfaff, commander of the 138th Theater Gateway.
The gateway was recently relocated in a move that saves money and reduces the military’s footprint in the region. “The relocation saves the government $2 million per month”, said Tatum. “We are still looking at ways to improve the process and save more money.” The theater gateway receives an average of 6,500 passengers per month. The service members and civilian contractors pass through the gateway traveling into and out of Kuwait and other countries in the region. |
