Summary[edit]

Description
English: Operation Van Buren, PFC Tony Baker (Orlando, Florida), and Plt Sgt Fred Brander (Clarksville, Tennessee), members of the 1st Brigade 101st Airborne Division, tie up equipment left behind by the Vietcong. The wire is used in case the equipment is booby trapped. The infantrymen are members of a relief force on its way to relieve another unit under Vietcong attack. This operation was held to prevent rice harvests from falling into Vietcong control. NARA 111-CCV-409-CC33316
