Summary[edit]

Description In the late 19th Century circa 1880-1900 love tokens were very popular. A coin usually of silver was reingraved with fancy stylized initials of the loved one defacing one side of the coin. This one was engraved over one side of an 1841 thaler of German or Austrian design. Though the coin is dated 1841 the reingraved surface on one side is probably from the 1880's or 90's. When you see the pic of the reverse side you will see the coin had added mounting brackets for a brooch perhaps.
