Description

Difficult map to identify: There are labels of "Türkisches Gebiet" (Turk Area, meaning Ottoman Empire) in the North and "Russisches Gebiet" (Russian Empire) in the South, and according to the label this map shows the position of a "Kloster Kotsch[o/e]wan[d]" (spelling unclear!) which is apparently the 19th century German spelling of a place that may today be known in English under any variety of "Kojewan", "Kojowand" or "Gojiwan"; also it is possible that this monastery may not have survived the various conflicts of the region. --Enyavar (talk) 10:07, 30 September 2021 (UTC) (P.S. there is also descriptions of the area aside from the depicted valley as "Lava Terrain und Tuf", certainly meaning "lithified lava, en:Tuff-rocks". Also, there is a "Weg nach Ani" label, pointing the way to en:Ani.)
