This is actually the first Austin badged Metro I've seen in about five years. I really really want to find an early one, but so far no luck. I think living where I am, the Metros aren't so suited to the roads, whereas in the big cities like London they survive better. I don't normally get the owner in the picture, but here I couldn't really help it as he turned around at the wrong moment! I was going to wait for him to drive out to get a front shot, but he sat in the front reading the paper and after ten minutes I got bored. I really like the decals on this one- you don't often see these anymore. I prefer the more colourful Metros, but this one's perfectly acceptable! I love the originality of this one, including the original dealer sticker- sold at Three Arches Garage, Cardiff, an Austin Rover dealer. 94 City X's remain on the roads- 20 years ago there were over 100,000..... Massive drop.
