Description

A view of the opening ceremonies for the 1987 Ryder Cup gold tournament on the 18th green of the Muirfield Village Golf Club. Jack Nicklaus, the U.S. captain, is speaking at the podium. The Ohio State Marching Band is arrayed in the background. The tournament was played September 25-27. 1987, and was the first time the United States team lost on home soil. The European team won their second consecutive Ryder Cup by a score of 15 to 13 points.
