Summary[edit]

Description
English: 1978 AMC AMX, a compact sports coupe built by American Motors Corporation. Based on the Concord hatchback model, this design version of the performance AMX was available only for the 1978 model year. The car did not have Concord badges or identification. The AMX featured the front fascia with single round headlights, a flush grille, round amber parking lights, and a "power bulge" hood from the AMC Gremlin. The wire headlamp covers on this car are an aftermarket customization. The 1978 AMX colors were limited to white, red, yellow, silver, or a special version in "Classic Black." This car features the "Quick Silver" metallic paint and has been customized with the addition of the gold body side stripes that came only on AMXs that were finished in black. This car has AMC's optional polished forged aluminum 5-spoke road wheels, as well a the optional decals (from the previous year's Hornet) on the rear deck and hood. The interior has the optional "Levi's" Trim Package upholstery. The picture was taken at the American Motors Owners Association (AMO) annual convention that was held in July 2015 near Cleveland, Ohio.
