Summary[edit]

Description
English: 1977 AMC Hornet AMX, a sports compact built by American Motors Corporation (AMC). This returned the AMX name to a hatchback body style in the Hornet line for one model year. Available powertrains were the 258 cu in (4.2 L) I6 with a floor shifted 4-speed manual or automatic transmission or the 304 cu in (5 L) V8 engine with automatic transmission. Standard features included painted bumpers with rubber guards and nerf strips, painted fender flares and front air dam, black rear window louvers, AMX graphics on lower bodyside and rear deck, dual outside mirrors in flat back, blacked-out window frames, grille, and rear panel, a silver "Targa" roof band, styled road wheels with trim rings and DR78 tires, unique black bodyside scuff moldings, brushed silver instrument panel overlays, tachometer, gauge package, center console and bucket seats, custom door panels, and soft-feel steering wheel. This car is finished in Firecracker Red (paint code 6P) with the interior in black. Photographed at the May 2021 meeting of the Delaware Valley chapter of the American Motors Owners Association (AMO) that was held in Pennsylvania.
