Summary[edit]

Description
English: Some Mercedes-Benz vehicles have gone on to become key players in history, and this exhibit hall is dedicated to some of them.

The yellow Mercedes-Benz O 302-13 R Üh bus (reg. F-WM 134, built 1974) was the official transportation for the West German national soccer team during the 1974 FIFA World Cup. West Germany was the host and the winner of that contest.

In addition, when South Korea's Hyundai Business Group decided to enter the automotive industry, it licensed this very model for its first motorcoach. Yes, while Hyundai is best known from that era for licensing Ford of Europe products like the Cortina and the Taunus, it did go to Mercedes-Benz for the motorcoach. For the past year, Hyundai vehicles had won my heart on my road trips, just like Ford had done for nearly a decade beforehand; now, it was time to see if Mercedes-Benz, over the next week, would get to join the very short list of my preferred automakers for my road trips, a feat even the almighty Bavarians at BMW could not accomplish.
