| Description |
Seen at the famous Auto Collection at The Quad (formerly Imperial Palace), Las Vegas. While Panhard is a very old brand, by the 1950s it was concentrating on economy cars, and had merged with Citroën in 1955 and was selling its cars via integrated Citroën-Panhard distribution networks. This Dyna is on sale for $29,500, and quite a sight. Lightweight (1,630 pounds, even lighter than a Volkswagen Beetle) and relatively powerful (50 brake horsepower), this was quite a nice car to drive. Panhard Dyna Z was available in the US, with a 1958 price tag of $2,000 which was on par with a low-end American domestic car, though this is a French domestic example, between the license plate, the yellow headlights (unique requirement for France), and the center foglight which was usually omitted from US-market versions. |
