Italiano: Lapide latina che ricorda come Taormina fosse stata risparmiata per intervento miracoloso dal terremoto del gennaio 1693. Si trova nella navata destra della Cattedrale di Taormina. Il carattere goffo e sgraziato della scrittura, al limite dell'analfabetismo (c'è perfino un errore di ortografia!), rivela la decadenza della città, dopo la vendita dei suoi feudi da parte dei re spagnoli. La lapide è firmata da Marco Marchisana, Pagano Giovan Battista del Giudice, Pietro Marziano, Girolamo Corvaja. Foto di Giovanni Dall'Orto, 19 maggio 2008.
English: Latin plaque commemorating the fact that Taormina had been preserved by miracle from the January, 1693 earthquake. The akward writing displays the decadence of the once opulent town, after the King of Spain sold its feuds for want of money. The plaque stands in the right nave of the Cathedral of Taormina.
