Description

Photos taken by family in New Roads, Louisiana, 1949, at the annual Mardi Gras Parade - still a vibrant tradition today.

Last year, 2012, New Roads's The Community Center Carnival parade and the Lions' Club parade rolled down Main Street for the 90th year. After New Orleans, it is the oldest parade to roll in the state of Louisiana.
