Description
Deutsch: Ein von zahlreichen Skulpturen an dem durch die Architekten Karl Elkart und Friedrich Hartjenstein bis 1927 errichteten Baukomplex zwischen der Fössestraße und der Limmerstraße in Hannover-Linden-Nord. Die Hauptfassade des Wohn- und Geschäftskomplexes zeigt in Richtung zu dem von dem Architekten Alfred Sasse schon 1910 entworfenem Platz Am Küchengarten, nachdem der ehemals dortige Eisenbah-Gleiskörper dort reduziert worden war. Das Gebäude nimmt Bezug auf das schräg gegenüberliegende ehemalige Bäderhaus (heute zum Theater am Küchengarten (TAK)) umfunktioniert. Laut der Denkmaltopographie Bundesrepublik Deutschland stammen die kubistischen Dekorplatten aus Terrakotta (und damit wohl auch die Skulpturen am Baukomplex) von dem Bildhauer Ludwig Vierthaler. Die Figuren am Gebäude nehmen bezug auf die Arbeitswelt, darunter hat sich eine Skulptur mit einem Brikett teilerhalten, möglicherweise eine Andeutung der ehemaligen Kohlenhandlung der Familie von Stephanus unter der Adresse Limmerstraße 1 ...
