Correction: The darkhaired little girl left front of photo is my mother, Zofia Fudakowska, 6 yrs old,who with some of her siblings was staying at the Grand Hotel at that time with her mother, Anna Fudakowska, my maternal grandmother. The boy at the top is my uncle Jan (Jaś) Fudakowski, eldest of my grandmother's children, the other child protagonist in the Mann novella. All this was documented at the time Visconti's film Death in Venice was being made. Both my uncle Jan and Moes were still alive at the time and were extensively interviewed. Jan Fudakowski's grandson Peter Fudakowski is a well-known British film producer. Signed by Anna Babinska
