Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A view from the east bank of the Lehigh River over the Hamilton Street dam about 1910. The area north of the dam along Front Street was known as the "Lehigh Port". During its heyday in the late nineteenth-century, Lehigh Port was a busy industrial center and could boast of some of the nation's most modern iron foundries. Various canal and riverboats would dock there and pick up or discharge cargo.
