Title
English: 19. Cut Rafter Tails, Back of House.
Description
English:

A scaffold platform is on the left of the picture. The rafters are in place on the roof for further assembly. The rafters have been cut at a diagonal at the ends, hence "rafter tails".

Rafter tails are cut flush on site just prior to the installation of a “facia” board. A facia serves as the more finished surface seen along the dripline of a roof and is used as a mounting surface for the gutter.
