Description
English: 1851 plan and profile of the proposed Medford and Stoneham Railroad, an extension of the Boston and Maine Railroad's Medford Branch. The branch was partially graded, but abandoned after the Panic of 1857. The Boston and Lowell Railroad completed its Stoneham Branch (shown in this map) in 1862, and the B&M did not make further attempts to reach Stoneham.
