Blazon[edit]

On a bend azure, two terrestrial lightning flashes issuant from base of the first, overall a gun sight counterchanged.

Significance[edit]

In the ultramarine blue and gold of the Air Force, the lightning flashes are symbolic of the speed of modern aviation, and the gun sight reflects the combat mission of the wing's predecessors.

Motto[edit]

The original emblem for the 15th Fighter Group, reflected "PROSEQUOR ALIS" (I pursue with wings) instead of "15TH AIR BASE WING" on scroll below the shield (approved 5 October 1942). On 10 December 1992, the Air Force Historical Research Agency approved the 15th Air Base Wing Commander's request to delete this motto since it was no longer applicable to the 15th Air Base Wing's mission.
