Summary[edit]

Description

The Robert Cruit house, 1409 F Street, NW, as it appeared in the 9/8/07 "Washington Times." It was reported to be "...the only house west of Seventh on the shopping thoroughfare now used as a dwelling."

With its usual boosterish faux nostalgia, the Times reported, "It breathes the spirit of another age and challenges the onrush of business and commercial life, undaunted by the threat of either." Built ca. 1849, by 1911, plans were being made to convert it to a restaurant.
