| Description |
Deutsch: Das Gemälde „Das Pfingstgeschehen“ mit der heutigen Bezeichnung „Brillenapostel“ als Teil des „Wildunger Altars“ der Kirche von Bad Wildungen. Der 1403 von Konrad von Soest gemalte Brille tragender Sankt Peter gilt als älteste Brillendarstellung nördlich der Alpen. Diese früheste Version einer Brille waren meist aus Holz gefertigt. Auf Grund der bräunlichen Färbung der Gläser dürften diese aus unreinem Bergkristall hergestellt worden sein. |
