English: Attributed to Bishandas. A creative image of Jahangir Welcoming Shah 'Abbas, ca. 1618, Freer Gallery of Art, Washington DC - for more information see Keating, Jessica. "Metamorphosis at the Mughal Court." Art History 38.4 (2015): 732-747. The object in the left hand of the attendant on the right is a seventeenth-century German clockwork automaton of the Roman goddess Diana riding a stag. That paper identifies the artist as Abul’ Hasan (1589–c. 1630).
