Summary[edit]

Description
English: Pictured are members of 121 Expeditionary Air Wing (EAW) during a week living in the field at Barkston heath on Exercise Castle Defender.

The exercise prepared personnel for Out of Area deployments by giving them the skills to cook, eat, live and defend themselves should the EAW team be sent anywhere on operations in the future.

121 Expeditionary Air Wing (121 EAW) was formed to provide a multi-skilled team capable of deploying world wide at very short notice to run and co-ordinate air operations.

The EAW could be called upon to provide critical support to a wide range of operations including, but not limited to: Humanitarian and Disaster relief; peacekeeping or stabilisation operations.
