Summary[edit]

Description
English: Vung Tau, South Vietnam. 1968-11. Checking the surfing conditions on a large sign for the 1st Australian Logistic Support Group (1ALSG) Surf Lifesaving Club, before going on to the beach at Vung Tau are, Signaller John Johnson of Drummoyne, NSW (left), and Signaller Bruce Samson of Hunter's Hill, NSW. Both are members of the 110th Signals Squadron based at Vung Tau where units comprising 1ALSG are located. A close watch is kept on sea and surf conditions for off-duty troops swimming, boating, skiing and yatching. Note the barbed wire perimeter fence at right.
