Description Mongolian Maj. Gen. B. Bayarmagnai, the deputy commanding general of the general staff of the Mongolian armed forces, right, and U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Joseph Chavez, left, the deputy commanding general for U.S. Army Pacific Command, cut a ceremonial ribbon in front of the entrance to the Ayut Family Hospital in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Aug. 11, 2011. The new medical facility was built by U.S. Marines, Sailors and Soldiers and Mongolian armed forces construction workers as part of the engineering civic action program for Exercise Khaan Quest 2011. Khaan Quest is an annual multinational operational exercise co-sponsored by the Mongolian armed forces and U.S. Pacific Command that is executed by U.S. Army Pacific with support from the U.S. State Department. It is designed to strengthen the capabilities of U.S., Mongolian and other nations’ forces in international peace support operations worldwide. (DoD photo by Cpl.
