Description

FOLSOM, Calif. (May 4, 2011) – Project managers Pamela Amie from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District and Mark Curney from the Bureau of Reclamation explain the phases of the Joint Federal Project (JFP) to participants of the Water Education Foundation’s Flood Management tour at the Folsom Dam and auxiliary spillway here May 4.

Amie, one of three Corps project managers for the JFP, joined Corps water manager Kyle Keer at the two-day event, which runs through May 5 and aims to educate participants on the Corps role in flood risk reduction. The tour – attended by many water experts and engineering consultants from throughout California – will include field trips to the Bear River, West Sacramento, the Pocket area and several of the area’s weirs.
