| Description |
English: Architectural detail of 1001 14th Street NW in Washington, D.C., in the United States. This image is looking north at a column in the facade of the building, next to the main entrance. Gray concrete forms the walls of the building. However, grey and pink polished granite is used on the ground floor to create highlights, accents, and other ornaments. This non-structural column is clad in pink granite, and four long grooves have been carved the length of the column as ornaments. This is a 12-story Modernist structure designed by Vlastimil Koubek and built in late 1979. |
