Summary[edit]

Description
English: Variations of the early RAF uniform worn by three officers serving in Italy in 1918.

In the centre is Colonel Philip Joubert de la Ferte of HQ 14th Wing RFC, while to his right is the Commanding Officer of 66 Squadron RFC, Major Whittaker, and, to his left, Major WG Barker VC, the CO of 28 Squadron. The latter is wearing the 'traditional' RAF blue /grey dress while Joubert and Whittaker are in uniforms cut from material originally destined for Russian Cossacks.
