Description
English: Structural diagram of the cyclitol 1,2,4,5-cyclohexanetetrol (cyclohexane-1,2,4,5-tetrol, 1,2,4,5-tetrahydroxycyclohexane).

There are 7 stereoisomers with this structure, that differ on the position of the hydroxyls relative to the mean plane of the ring. Three of those (1,2,4,5/0, 1,2/4,5 and 1,5/2,4) are achiral, and the other 4 constitute 2 enantiomer pairs (D,L-1,2,4/5 and D,L-1,4/2,5). This count considers the ring planar, and does not take into account geometric isomerism due to distortion of the ring from planarity (the "boat" and "chair" conformations).
