Näherungskonstruktion[edit]
Konstruktionsbeschreibung[edit]

Approximation construction[edit]
Construction description[edit]
It starts with the (Unit_circle) with radius around and drawing in the diameter . Next, the centre axis perpendicular to it is entered. This is followed by an arc of radius around and ; the intersections are and or and . An undrawn perpendular bisector between and bisects the arc in . The perpendicular from to the line segment meets it at the point . The point results from the intersection of the undrawn median perpendicular between and with the circle.
Continue by transferring the distance from ; this gives as the intersection with the circle. The perpendicular from to the line segment meets it at the point . The point results from the intersection of the not drawn median perpendicular between and with the circle. The final connecting line segment intersects in and thus yields the line segment whose length is almost equal to the nominal value .
Result[edit]
A maximum of 15 decimal places are displayed in GeoGebra.
Example to illustrate the absolute error[edit]
- With a cube 1 with the edge length a1 = 1 billion km (the light would need for this distance approx. 56 min.) the constructed edge length would be a2 of doubled cube 2 no error evaluable.
- It is therefore reasonable to assume that the absolute error is < 1 mm.
- Given a cube 1 with edge length a1 = 10 km the error of the volume of doubled cube 2 would probably be < 0,7 dm3 or < 1 liter.
