Description
Deutsch: Der Küsten-Mammutbaum (Sequoia sempervirens), auch Küsten-Sequie und California Redwood genannt, ist in den Küstengebieten Nordkaliforniens beheimatet. Die Bäume können bis zu 115 Meter hoch werden und einen Stammdurchmesser bis zu 7 Meter erreichen. Das höchste Alter wurde auf 2.200 Jahre bestimmt. Die Aufnahme zeigt den Hyperon im Redwood-Nationalpark (USA).
English: The coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens), also known as coast sequie and California redwood, is native to the coastal areas of Northern California. The trees can grow up to 115 meters high and reach a trunk diameter of up to 7 meters. The highest age was determined to be 2,200 years. The image shows the Hyperon in Redwood National Park (USA).
