Object history Rodolphe Salis, avait oublié au cours de son déménagement du boulevard Rochechouart pour la rue de Laval, une chaise empaillée de style vaguement Louis XIII ordinaire. Rodolphe s'empressa d'aller la réclamer à son successeur Aristide Bruant. Celui-ci lui claqua la porte au nez. Obstiné, Salis envoya un de ses garçons, son "fauteuil Louis XIII". Devant sa clientèle ébahie, Bruant saisit la chaise, monta sur une table, et accrocha ladite chaise au plafond. L'histoire fit le tour de Montmartre, et juste à côté, Grille d'Egout et la Goulue obtiennent un franc succès à l'Elysée Montmartre en exécutant "Le quadrille de la chaise Louis XIII". La chaise devint bientôt le symbole du Mirliton.
