| Description |
中文（臺灣）：圖中可見一位盛裝打扮的太魯閣族婦女，僅於額頭上紋面，表示她大約8-16歲正在學習織布與農耕等技能。傳統太魯閣女性要擅長織布與耕作後，才有資格在雙頰印上象徵美麗、勇敢、避邪的頰紋。另外男性則是要善於藤編與狩獵，才能在額頭與下巴紋面。這樣的印記在太魯閣族的文化中還有一個重要的意義，即太魯閣族相信人在逝世後會有一道彩虹橋，沒紋面者會無法前往橋的另一端與祖靈們相會，因為有紋面祖靈才會認得你是同一個族群的子孫。平常的太魯閣族並不會穿著像圖中一樣盛裝打扮，通常是祭儀、結婚等重要時刻才會以這樣出席。另外，日治時期日人將太魯閣地區分為內外太魯閣，以布洛灣為分界，往合歡山方向為內太魯閣，往立霧溪下游為外太魯閣，圖為內太魯閣女姓。此影像收錄於《顧我洄瀾：花蓮歷史影像集》一書，為葉柏強先生撰寫、花蓮縣文化局於2016年（民國105年）出版。書中記錄了花蓮近百年的城市樣貌，是一本擁有豐富文史與圖像資料的書籍。 |
